Adderall Usage

All the users of Adderall do not develop side effects and most of the people do tolerate Adderall very well but some people tend to experience the intake of Adderall by developing related side effects. Most of the side effects associated with Adderall intake are minor and will disappear after a couple of days and they might not require any treatment or they might be easily treated by your physician.  However, if the patient suffers serious side effects, then it should be reported to your healthcare provider immediately.

Common Adderall Side Effects

Several clinical trials have been conducted on the side effects that can be caused by the use of Adderall and a number of people were evaluated in the process. In such studies, the symptoms experienced by the group of people using Adderall was compared and evaluated with another group of people who went through the same symptoms but did not use Adderall.

From such studies, common side effects from the use of Adderall were identified and these are

  • loss of appetite or anorexia,
  • dry mouth,
  • difficulty in sleeping,
  • headaches,
  • abdominal pain,
  • temporary changes in the blood pressure,
  • weight loss,
  • emotional changes,
  • nausea,
  • upset stomach,
  • vomiting,
  • dizziness,
  • diarrhea,
  • asthenia or feeling weak,
  • tachycardia or increased heart rate,
  • infections such as urinary tract infection,
  • fever
  • and heartburn.

The use of Adderall has been known to cause temporary stunted growth in children. However, after stopping the use of the drug, children catch up and reach within their growth limits.

Serious Adderall Side Effects

There are certain serious side effects that are associated with the use of Adderall and these symptoms need to be reported to your healthcare provider immediately. These symptoms include

  • suicidal thoughts,
  • chest tightness,
  • confusion,
  • chest pain or heart palpitations,
  • shortness of breath,
  • depression,
  • aggressive behavior,
  • strange behavior,
  • hallucinations,
  • agitation,
  • fainting,
  • seizures,
  • unexplained rash,
  • hives,
  • uncontrolled movements of the neck, head, mouth, arms or legs.

Certain other rare side effects that have been reported with the use of Adderall are

  • tiredness or fatigue,
  • constipation,
  • shakiness,
  • sweating,
  • impotence,
  • seizures,
  • heart or mental problems
  • and reduced sex drive.

In case, you experience any of the serious side effects of Adderall, you must notify your physician immediately so that the symptoms can be taken care of in the right manner.
